This round potato, known as Red Pontiac, features thin, dark red skins, deep eyes, and crisp white flesh. It is ideal for mashed potatoes and boiling, but not for baking. With heat tolerance, long storage life, and high yield, this variety is well-suited for heavy soil conditions and can be grown in wire cages. One thing to note is that the thin skin may need to be left in the ground for a week or two after the vines have died back in order to firm up.
